Upper Merion Area SD
On July 14, seventh-grader Sierra Shoudt-Reddi received the 2011 Outstanding Student Award at the Community of Caring National Conference for leadership in Upper Merion Area Middle School. Through her involvement in its Community of Caring initiative, service activities and energetic work with the Leadership Training Program, Shoudt-Reddi models the Community of Caring values. She volunteers enthusiastically at St. Johns Soup Kitchen, collecting goods for the needy and volunteering, setting up and serving breakfast.
With Principal Dr. Karen Geller, Shoudt-Reddi represented her district co-presenting two workshops at the conference – “Beyond Bullying: Transforming Schools the Caring Way” and “Cyber Bullying.” Sierra’s district is proud of her and the Community of Caring Program.
