Mooreland Elementary Mediators and Mentors program builds leadership skills at Carlisle Area SD

Several third- through fifth-graders at Mooreland Elementary School in the Carlisle Area SD provide service to their community through participation in Mentors and Mediators (M & Ms). Participation in M & Ms helps build leadership capacity in students who do not always have the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership skills. Students impact their school and community through cooperation, teamwork, care and compassion. Activities include food and clothing collection/delivery (benefits a local homeless shelter and food bank), services (such as cleaning) to local non-profit organizations and collecting items for holiday food baskets. M & Ms serve as exemplary role models for their peers!
