Forest City Regional SD (Susquehanna Co.)
The Forest City Regional Elementary School was awarded the 2011 National Blue Ribbon School Award. The award program was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. This prestigious award was attended by Blue Ribbon Schools throughout the nation.
The Forest City Regional Elementary School is a rural public school located in northeastern Pennsylvania. Its mission is to prepare students to be lifelong learners, critical problem-solvers, and responsible, productive citizens.
The Forest City Regional Elementary School has been awarded the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Achievement Plaques for the past seven years along with the school being recognized for making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) during those years.
Literacy, mathematics and science are focal points in this challenge. The school is focused on meeting the needs of all students from pre-kindergarten to sixth. The nurturing environment of the school provides students with an understanding of self-worth as they continue to achieve academically. Students’ work is seen throughout the hallways and classrooms. Monthly awards help to encourage students’ achievement as well.
The Forest City Regional Elementary School has been afforded a dedicated faculty/staff, caring and concerned parents, students who want to learn and come to school, and an administration that supports meeting the needs of all our students.
In addition, the Forest City Regional Elementary School was honored in Hershey, PA, and received a certificate on its academic accomplishments from PA Secretary of Education, Ronald Tomalis.
