On Friday, March 18, 2011, Shannon Petrunak and the Emmaus High School Track & Field Team held their 2nd “Shave for the Brave” event in the Emmaus High School gymnasium. This amazing event would not have been possible without the 11 honored families, numerous volunteers, generous donors and sponsors, and 120 shavees who went bald for pediatric cancer research. Twenty of the 120 shavees were brave female participants who threw vanity out the window and shaved their heads for this wonderful cause.
It was a very special night that no one will ever forget. This year’s goal was to raise one penny more than the $24,566.99 raised in 2010, and this year’s grand total was $37,113.00. Quakertown Community SD wins NSPRA communications award
