Mardochee Dade, 8th grade South Mountain Middle School student, was one of 50 selected from more than 1,000 candidates across the country as a 2011 Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholar, chosen because of his grades, extracurricular pursuits, teacher recommendations, application and financial need.

Mardochee enjoys helping others and hopes to become a doctor after attending an Ivy League college. He is also a cello player, and plays with the city orchestra.
