Allentown City SD (Lehigh Co.)
Mardochee Dade, 8th grade South Mountain Middle School student, was one of 50 selected from more than 1,000 candidates across the country as a 2011 Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholar, chosen because of his grades, extracurricular pursuits, teacher recommendations, application and financial need.
Mardochee enjoys helping others and hopes to become a doctor after attending an Ivy League college. He is also a cello player, and plays with the city orchestra. With the Cooke Foundations’ support and guidance, Mardochee hopes to participate in the National Cello Institute in California and also participate in the Stanford Medical Youth Science Program.
