Enter the 2013 Poster & Essay Contest!

During these difficult times for public education, members of the education community have answered the call from PSBA to “Stand Up for Public Education!” Now, we’d like to hear from your most valuable asset – the students.

PSBA Poster Contest (open to students in grades 2-5)
Students are asked to visually complete the sentence, “My education will help me to…” on an 11×17 poster. Poster should depict a student’s goals and aspirations, and what type of future they believe their education will bring.

Posters will be judged in two categories:

  • Grades 2-3
  • Grades 4-5

New this year: Each teacher may submit up to 10 entries for each grade category. There will be two winners selected from each category. Each winner will receive $100 and their poster will be displayed with a ribbon at the 2013 PASA-PSBA School Leadership Conference Oct. 15-18, at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center. PSBA Essay Contest (open to students in grades 6-12)
Students are asked to complete the sentence, “My education will help me to…” in 300-400 words. Essays should depict a student’s goals and aspirations, and what type of future they believe their education will bring.

Essays will be judged in two categories:

  • Grades 6-8
  • Grades 9-12

New this year: Each teacher may submit up to 10 entries for each grade category. There will be two winners selected from each category. Each winner will receive $100 and will be invited to read their essay at the beginning of a general session at the 2013 PASA-PSBA School Leadership Conference Oct. 15-18, at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center. Selected essays will be printed in a book that will be distributed at conference. Click here for a complete overview of the PSBA Essay Contest. Essay entries may be emailed or mailed. Posters should be mailed with a stiffener or cardboard in a flat envelope or mailing tube. Please do not fold the poster.

Entries must be received by Sept. 20, 2013. Submit all entries to:
